‘To change citizens’ health behaviour we need technology that creates delight’

Here is a great summary of my closing keynote at HIMSS Europe in Helsinki, June 15, 2022.

The Brussels start-up studio and incubator E-Health Venture offers support for start-ups that specifically focus on digital therapeutics with the program DTx Advance. As chairman of the expert committee for DTx Advance, I spoke with SmartHealth about the expectations surrounding digital therapeutics.
Sometimes it’s more interesting to start with marketing, prove that you get traction with patients for your solution and only then consider having the app reimbursed. It is a process that demands a lot from a start-up, in terms of time, focus and financial resources. Here is the full read (in Dutch).

I Introduced Real World Data you’ve never considered of value. Or which you didn’t trust. Emerging digital health tools enabling accessing and capturing these data for the first time ever. And suggestions to use them to spice up your clinical trial design in order to obtain unique selling points for emerging drugs. In short, to a fresh look into clinical trial design and execution with concrete examples of a toolbox to apply tomorrow.

Inspiring the NATO

Thanks De Tijd for covering our inspiration event organised for the surgeon generals of the NATO.

Our most lateral healthcare event ever. Very honored to have hosted the 29 generals of the NATO in the premises of Health House. Taking them on a tour to the future of healthcare in warfare. Painting a future of NATO 3.0 focusing on interception and anticipation. And let them experience  live demos from Icometrix, Oncomfort, Biorics, Epihunter and MyMindScan. Fallout after the first hour: invites to the NATO futures team in the US, and invites to three major countries to discuss collaborations. The best is yet to come.

My smartphone as doctor

We have created a database of regulated health Apps that can be useful for patients, physicians and / or other key health players, along with useful information (links to iOS or Android App stores,…) which will further be extended (free or paying, which mark of approvals …). We hope that this will help physicians to become more aware on the emerging use of mobile medical applications in their practice. Smart analytics tools (AI/ML) learn  what keeps me well and healthy. This way I get my digital guardian angel, my preventive care companion, and permanent personal assistant providing best possible personalized health advice.
